Last year 2010 I went to the NEC Classic motor show for the first time. It had by the far the best array of both classic & exotic cars you could ever wish to see under one roof.......
I for one am looking forward to this years as I will be taking along the pedal car & displaying on the TR Drivers Club stand, with a bit of a twist.
In 1981 BL tried to sell off as many TR7s as possible. With this countdown poster signifying the end of production and offering the chance to enter a competition to win a holiday in florida.
Quoted form the poster "................Driving a TR7 is like going into orbit.
Sadly though, it will be soon a blast from the past.
Because after this Autumn, the TR7 will no longer be made.
So its already a collectors item and the countdown has started.
For availability see your local Triumph dealer today.................."

So the idea is take one pedal car.....
And some wood.....
And create this.....
TR7...6...5...4...3...2...1...
All I can say is watch this space
We've started now.........
work on the rocket launcher is well under way thankfully it won't be ready for bonfire night
(just incase somebody wanted to get rid of it Clarkson style)
But it will be ready for the NEC next week
How many times in the classic car world have we heard "all it needs is a lick of paint,"
Thats next,
5 days till blast off......
This is how it all ended
picture taken by John Lucas
fellow TR Drivers club member of me stood next to the launch pad on the left & on the right Harris Mann the designer of the TR7 also pictured with the launch pad........
And apart from the rocket launcher it was a great show as it always is, the cars looked great ,the stand was fantastic and it was good to catch up with old friends and to put faces with a few more.
Already counting down to next year.
